November 8, 2011, EAGLE MILLS, AR - Drawing on her interest of books, Mary E. Griffith made the decision to turn her passion into a career. She dedicated 28 years to teaching library classes in a variety of school districts in Arkansas. She first got a taste for the industry in high school when she helped out in the library, assisting other students with navigating their way around the library and making book recommendations.
As the library teacher, she was responsible for ensuring that the library was filled with the most recent materials and had a variety of research tools available to students. While she loved working in the library, Ms. Griffith also had an interest in the administration side of education. Dedicated to providing students with the newest educational resources and programs, she would spend every minute of her free time writing federal grant proposals. In addition, she traveled around the country attending conferences and workshops to learn ways to improve the school’s education system.
Now retired, Ms. Griffith aspires to continue assisting people by volunteering at her local church and actively participating in the associations she is affiliated with.
